Jayan Malpe, social activist, said on Thursday that those who do not respect the Constitution, which emphasised on equality and harmony, should leave the country.

He was speaking at a protest organised by the Ambedkar Yuva Sene against a recent circular issued by the Department of Education which allegedly insulted the architect of the Constitution B.R. Ambedkar, here.

Mr. Malpe said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the State should be dismissed for issuing such a circular.

The BJP would do well to remember that a tea-seller could become the Prime Minister of the country and a newspaper delivery boy could become the President of the country only because of the Constitution. It was wrong to insult the Constitution and its architect, he said.

Amrit Shenoy, social activist, alleged that the RSS was behind the move to remove references of Dr. Ambedkar from the history books.
