Yenepoya Trust institutes awards for teachers in Mangalore


September 15 is the last date to submit applications for this year’s awards

Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust, Jeppinamogeru has instituted a ‘Yenepoya Teacher Award’ to felicitate one teacher or headmaster each from primary and high schools in Dakshina Kannada district to encourage excellence and innovation in the field of education every year. Principal of the school and member secretary of the Teacher Award Committee C.K. Manjunath in a press release here said teachers are welcome to apply for the 2014 awards, the last date for which is September 15. The applicant teacher could be from any government, aided or unaided institution under the state or central government syllabus. The award comprises a citation and Rs. 10,000 purse to be presented on School Founder’s Day on November 14.

Mr. Manjunath said the applicant should have put in at least 10 years of service; have proven track record of merit and excellence in the field of education and not have been recipient of state/ central government awards. He said a committee comprising experts in education field is formed by the Trust to select teachers for the annual award. Applicant teachers may submit the application forms with necessary documents attested by the head of the institution/ block education officer.
