Workshop on student well-being from May 20

Abhyuday, the Department of Counselling, Welfare, Training and Placement, NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), will be organising a four-day national workshop on ‘understanding our adolescents, suicide prevention and introduction to therapeutic counselling for teachers and administrators in higher education’ at Nitte in Udupi district from May 20 to 23.

A press release issued here on Thursday that this year professional counsellors and teaching medical doctors from Malaysia had also registered for the workshop.

The workshop will focus on various themes: suicide prevention on the first day; identification of adolescent problems and psychiatric disorders in professional colleges on the second day; understanding student expectations and dealing with stress on the third day; and practice counselling sessions on the fourth.
