Veene Seshanna memorial music fest

The V.N. Rao Memorial Trust, Department of Kannada and Culture and Shri Kshetra Dharmastala will jointly conduct ‘Veeneya Bedagu’, a two-day Veene Seshanna memorial music festival at Lalita Mahal in Dharmasthala from October 12.

The festival will begin with a group song by Arvind Hebbar and group at 4 p.m, which will be followed by a veena recital by Sahana S.V. at 5 p.m. There will be a violin recital by A. Kanyakumari at 7 p.m.

On October 13, there will be a group song by Vidwan Balasubrahmanya and group (3.30 p.m.), followed by a veena recital by Geeta Bhat (4.30 p.m.), a vocal recital by Neela Ram Gopal (5.30 p.m.), and a vocal recital by Vidwan Ramakrishnan Murthy and team (7.30 p.m).

Awards

The Veena Seshanna Memorial Award will be presented on October 12 to vocalist A. Kanyakumari.

On the same day, Swaramurthi V.N. Rao Memorial National Award will be presented to vocalist Neela Ram Gopal. Both the awards, carrying prize amount of ₹1 lakh each, will be presented by D. Veerendra Heggade, the Pattadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, at 6 p.m.
