The Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor T. C. Shivashankara Murthy said here on Thursday that the university was creating a website “Kanakanakindi.com” which would throw light on the life and literature of the social reformer who is said to have lived 500 years ago.

Prof. Murthy was speaking at the inauguration of Kanaka Keerthana programme organised by the Centre for Research on Kanakadasa of the university at the Town Hall here. Mr. Murthy said the compositions of Kanakadasa would be uploaded on the website. It would have an introduction on his life and contributions. The website would have information on his books.

The Vice-Chancellor said the centre would organise a world conference on “rethinking on Bhakthi” at the university either in January or February, 2012. The website would be unveiled at the conference.

He said the centre was compiling a volume containing articles written by different persons on Kanakadasa since 19th century onwards.
