Two officials booked for disproportionate assets

Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths have booked Uday D. Chabbi, Assistant Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Joida Sub-Division, Uttara Kannada, and S. Mahadevappa, Assistant Engineer, Department of Mines and Geology, Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada, for allegedly being in possession of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

According to Anti Corruption Bureau Superintendent of Police Uma Prashanth, officers searched Mr. Chabbi’s house in Bhavya Nagar of Anagol in Belagavi.

A search was also being held at Mr. Chabbi’s office in Joida and at his in-charge office in the City Municipal Council in Dandeli, Uttara Kannada.

The house Mr. Chabbi’s mother on Raghavendra Swami Mutt Road in Dandeli, Uttara Kannada, was also searched.

Anti Corruption Bureau teams searched Mahadevappa’s house in Sidedahalli in Bengaluru, Mahadevappa’s rented accommodation on Kadri Kambla Road and his office in Mallikatta, both in Mangaluru, and at his native place in Holalkere taluk in Chitradurga district.

A press release said that records related to Mahadevappa’s possession of five houses, eight acres of agriculture land in Chikkamagaluru and Chitradurga and ₹ 6.49 lakh in his bank accounts were found.

The sleuths have found him to be in possession of ₹ 3.11 lakh in cash, U.S. $ 2,150 and Hong Kong Dollars 4,800.
