Passenger train services resumed on Wednesday on the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road ghat section on the Hassan-Mangaluru rail line. Services were disrupted on Tuesday following frequent landslips and continuous flow of slurry along with boulders on the track near Siribagilu.

Satish, Senior Divisional Operations Manager of South Western Railway’s Mysuru Division, in a communiqué here, said that services were disrupted due to continuous falling of loose soil along with boulders in the form of slurry on the track in the wake of incessant rainfall.

The track was restored this morning, with day trains in the section running as usual.

Railway staff undertook restoration work at the location in hostile weather conditions, he added.
