Three-day music fest from Friday

A three-day Carnatic and Hindustani music festival ‘Raga Sudha Rasa’ will begin at the town hall here on November 3.

Organised by Mani Krishnaswami Acamey, in association with other organisations, the first day of the sangeethotsava will feature Carnatic concerts.

Archana and Samanvi of Udupi will render Navaratna kritis. It will be followed by a flute concert by J A Jayanth of Chennai.

There will be Hindustani vocal concerts by Anagha Bhat of Bengaluru and Pandit Venkatesh Kumar of Dharwad on November 4.

The concerts on the first two days will begin at 4.15 p.m. There will be day-long programmes on Sunday beginning with a vocal concert on D.V. Gundappa’s Antapura Geetha at 9.15 a.m. It will be followed by a Carnatic vocal concert by Trichy V. Pradeep Kumar of Chennai. The afternoon will start with ‘raga ondu bhava halavu’ programme with a mix of Carnatic, Hindustani, Bharatanatyam, film, Yakshagana, Bhajan and Bhavageethe. It will be accompanied by violin, harmonium, mrudanga, tabla, maddale, key board and rhythm pad.

Yuva Kala Mani award for 2017 will be presented to Nikshit T. of Puttur on the occasion. Satyavati Mudambadithaya, senior music teacher, Nadasaraswathi Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mangaluru will be felicitated on the occasion.
