Three amalgamated banks hold meeting

Corporation Bank, Union Bank of India and Andhra Bank, the three nationalised banks that were merged by the Union Finance Ministry in August, held a town hall meeting here on Friday.

P.V. Bharathi, Corporation Bank, Rajkiran Rai G., Union Bank of India, and J. Packirisamy, Andhra Bank, addressed the many customers and staff members of the merging entities, a release from Corporation Bank stated here.

During the presentations, it was reaffirmed that the common core-banking solution (CBS) platform will make the amalgamation relatively smooth and that the synergies would come from pan India presence, higher investments in technology, and productivity. Customers would benefit from the better and cost-effective products and services and digital initiatives.

It was further emphasised that all care would be taken to cause minimal discomfort to customers and that there were no immediate plans to close or merge the branches.
