The Hindu-Presidency school quiz and spelling bee on Nov. 15

The Hindu, in association with Presidency School, Mangaluru, has organised an inter-school spelling bee and quiz competition, Presidency Challenge, for students from Dakshina Kannada and neighbouring districts on November 15.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner S. Sasikanth Senthil would inaugurate the contest at Presidency School, Kelrai, Neermarga, at 9 a.m.

No entry fee

Students from Udupi, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu can participate in the competition, for which there is no entry fee.

Any number of teams, comprising two members from class 7 to class 10, may represent a school in the quiz competition. Six best performing teams would be selected for the finals through a written preliminary round.

The quiz would be conducted by Team Pickbrain.

Similarly, a school may nominate any number of students from class 5 and 6 for the spelling bee competition.

A written preliminary would be conducted for individual participants while top performing six students would get qualified for the final round. The spelling bee will be conducted by Team Greycaps.

Attractive prizes are on offer for participants.

The winning team in the quiz would get laptops while runners up would get Samsung tabs.

A Samsung tab is on offer for the winner in spelling bee while the runner up would get an Amazon Kindle.

Transport facility is being provided from PVS Circle and Jyothi Circle in the city at 8 am for students while food is arranged at the venue.
