Swachch Bharath volunteers clean up Lady Hill

Volunteers cleaned the Lady Hill area in the city as part of Ramakrishna Mission’s cleanliness drive on Sunday.

Students, volunteers of National Service Scheme and private sector employees participated in the drive.

The road direction boards which had not seen paint for the past few years were painted.

Boards shifted

The misplaced direction boards which were misleading the visitors and newcomers to the city were shifted to their proper places.

Dirt and garbage dumped across the footpath were cleared and weeds were removed.

The railings of the footpath that were corroded were painted and posters with attractive graphics and message on the Swachch Bharath theme were posted for creating awareness. Handbills on cleanliness were distributed to people.

Repairs

The interlock-tiled path leading to the bus stand in Lady Hill used by hundreds everyday has been extensively damaged.

Volunteers will set right the interlock tiles tomorrow and repair the path, a release said.
