Another Tulu film ‘Super Marmaye’ is set to release next month, making it the 58th film in the language.

The film, directed by stunt master Ram Shetty, would be released in the second week of August, a release said.

‘Super Marmaye’ features comedy actors Naveen D. Padil, Bhojaraja Vamanjoor, Aravinda Bolar and television serial comedy actor Raghavendra Rai. Theatre and film actor of ‘Court Marshal’ (a play) fame Gopinath Bhat has also acted in it.

The story of the film revolves around an autorickshaw driver who marries the daughter of a bank manager but is out of favour with his father-in-law.

Hindi serial actor Shruddha Saliyan is playing the second lead character, while Divyashree, the female lead of Chaali Polilu, is donning the lead female role in Super Marmaye. This is Ms. Saliyan’s first foray into the Tulu film industry, which is 44 years old.

The film has five songs, out of which two have been shot in the Sakaleshpur area. Tamma Lakshmana is its art director and it has been produced jointly by Mr. Shetty and Adyar Madhava Naik.

Mr. Shetty has worked as a stunt master in about 700 films in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. He has produced Hindi films Army, Gaddar, Jagruti and Khatarnaak, and three Tulu films — Badkere Budle (1982), Daareda Seere (1983) and Bangarda Kural (2012).
