Sringeri seer’s birthday celebrations today

The Mangaluru (Kotekar) branch of Sri Sharada Peetha, Sringeri, will organise the Vardhyantutsava (birthday celebrations) of Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamiji on its premises on Thursday.

A release from the mutt branch here said that the celebrations will start at 9 a.m. with Mahaganapati Homa, Mahapuje at noon, and mass feeding at 1 p.m. The formal function would start at 5 p.m., presided over by Jayapala Shetty Udyavara, former managing trustee of Sri Arasu Manjishnar Temple, Udyavar.

Varenki Shivaji Adhikari would conduct the felicitation programme of the Jagadguru.

Several people who have contributed in different fields of social life would be felicitated on the occasion and the programme concludes with Sri Guru Paduka Puja at 7 p.m., the release added.
