Special trains to clear Onam, Bakrid rush

Southern Railway will operate special trains from Tambaram, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil to Mangaluru Junction to clear extra rush of passengers during Bakrid and Onam.

A release from Southern Railway’s Palakkad Division here said that Train No 06017 Tambaram-Mangaluru Junction Special Fare Special will leave Tambaram at 3 p.m. on August 20 to reach Mangaluru Junction at 8.50 a.m. the next day.

Train No 06018 Mangaluru Junction-Tambaram Special Fare Special will leave Mangaluru Junction at 4.40 p.m. on August 21 to reach Tambaram at 10.45 a.m. the next day.

The train comprises one AC 2-Tier coach, two AC 3-Tier coaches, 12 Sleeper Class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.

It will halt at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Podanur, Palakkad Jn., Shoranur Jn., Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. Train No 06018 Tambaram-Mangaluru Junction Special Fare Special will have additional stoppage at Perambur.

Tirunelveli special

Train No 06019 Tirunelveli-Mangaluru Jn. Special Fare Special train will leave Tirunelveli at 5.55 p.m. on August 23 to reach Mangaluru Jn. at 12.30 p.m. the next day. Train No 06020 Mangaluru Jn.-Tirunelveli Special Fare Special train will leave Mangaluru Jn. at 3.40 p.m. on August 24 to reach Tirunelveli at 9.45 a.m. the next day.

The LHB rake comprises one 2-Tier AC coach, three 3-Tier AC coaches, nine Sleeper Class coaches and six unreserved coaches.

It will halt at Nagercoil Town, Kulitturai, Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Shoranur Jn., Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod.

Nagercoil special

Train No 06023 Nagercoil Jn.-Mangaluru Jn. Special Fare Special train will leave Nagercoil Jn. at 4.15 p.m. on August 26 to reach Mangaluru Jn. at 6.30 a.m. the next day. Train No 06024 Mangaluru Jn.-Nagercoil Jn. Special Fare Special train will leave Mangaluru Jn. at 8.30 a.m. on August 27 to reach Nagercoil Jn. at 10.15 p.m. the next day.

It comprises one AC 2-Tier coach, three AC 3-Tier coaches, 13 Sleeper Class coaches, three unreserved coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans. It will halt at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrisur, Shoranur Jn., Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod.
