Shiroor seer attends Modi meeting

Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt, who had submitted his nomination as an Independent candidate after he was denied BJP ticket for Udupi Assembly constituency but withdrew it later, attended the public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Tuesday. He sat in the front row in the audience and listened to Mr. Modi’s speech.

Later, the seer told reporters that he had come to meet Mr. Modi as directed by BJP leader Udaykumar Shetty. But the seating arrangement on the stage was limited to 16 persons. Hence he could not meet Mr. Modi, he said.
