Send relief material through Coast Guard to rain-hit Kerala

The Indian Coast Guard, Karnataka coastal district, has arranged two aircraft and two capital (large) ships for dispatch of relief material to the rain-battered Kerala.

In a communiqué here, district commander, DIG S.S. Dasila said the public may provide the material to the Coast Guard headquarters located at Panambur.

Through another communiqué, Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project CEO Yatish Bakampady said the urgent requirements to Kerala include, different cooking vessels and utensils; eating plates; plastic mugs and buckets; plastic containers to store cooking items; plastic chairs; blankets, towels and bed sheets; consumables like water, sugar, biscuits, milk powder, daal, cooking oil, rice and soaps.

Packing and labelling

Mr. Baikampady said the material should neatly be packed and labelled accordingly before despatching them to Coast Guard headquarters. He urged people to provide material generously as thousands of people are in relief camps.
