Rain woes: Two Mangaluru-bound flights diverted

Two Mangaluru-bound flights were diverted at the Mangaluru International Airport, due to poor visibility as heavy rains lashed the coast on Thursday. They were diverted to Kozhikode.

Director of the Airport, J.T. Radhakrishna said that an Air India Express flight from Muscat which was to land at 2 p.m. and a Jet Airways flight from Abu Dhabi scheduled to land at 1.45 p.m. were diverted.

He said that the two flights would return to Mangaluru in the evening. “Now they are on the way back to Mangaluru,” the Director said at 4.45 p.m.
