NMPT to open clinic on premises

The New Mangalore Port Trust will open a clinic in its premises for contract workers and residents of Panambur.

A release here said that Trust chairman M.T. Krishna Babu has announced the decision where outpatient consultation would be provided.

NMPT will also provide financial support to the wards of contract workers for higher studies through its CSR funds.

Meanwhile, Mr. Babu thanked members of trade unions for extending their support to stop payment of speed money and notional booking/payment to cargo handling workers of the Port.

He had held a series of meetings with the representatives of the unions before implementing the measure from August 1.
