Mysuru resident killed in bus accident

A 45-year-old woman from Mysuru died while nine others were injured when an Udupi-bound Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus overturned in Golitottu near Nelyadi on Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75 on Monday morning.

The Uppinangady police said Dhanalakshmi (45), a resident of Mysuru, died on the spot. While five of the injured were treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru, four injured passengers were treated at the government hospital in Puttur, the police said.

They said the KSRTC Airavata bus had started from Mysuru and was on the way to Udupi via Puttur and Dharmasthala. The accident took place around 7 a.m. after the bus left Puttur and Uppinangady and was on the way to Dharmasthala via Nelyadi.
