Minister to launch Union govt. schemes in city

As a part of the nation-wide launch of three Central government insurance schemes, Union Minister for Law and Justice D.V. Sadananda Gowda would launch the schemes in Mangaluru on Saturday.

Lakshmikantha Reddy, General Manager of Corporation Bank, the nodal bank for Dakshina Kannada, told reporters here on Thursday that Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Bima Yojana would be launched on the occasion.

District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai, Lok Sabha Member Nalin Kumar Kateel and others would attend the programme to be held at C.V. Nayak Hall, at 5 p.m.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address would be telecast live at the venue on that day, Mr. Reddy said.
