‘Master’ is dead; body donated

Mr. Shanker developed breathing problems and had been hospitalised for a week. He passed away in his house on Thursday morning.

Veteran cricketer and former Physical Director of St. Aloysius College, M.N. Shanker, popular among his students as “Master”, passed away at his house in Akashbhavan here on Thursday. His body was donated to K.S. Hegde Medical Academy.

Shanker’s daughter-in-law Jayashree Sudhir said Shanker, who was quite active at home, developed breathing problems and had been hospitalised for a week. He died at his house on Thursday morning.

He leaves behind his wife 87-year-old K. Ramani, son M.S. Sudhir, and daughters Dayalini Suvarna and Meenakshi.
