The Udupi district unit of the Students Islamic Organisation of India will be launching its “Many religions, one India” campaign from December 1 to 31.
Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Jishan Akhil, campus secretary of the State unit of the organisation, said that it was essential to unite people. They should be told to respect all religions and live in harmony in society. It was the responsibility of all citizens to take the country towards progress. Hence, the Students Islamic Organisation of India would be carrying out the campaign in the district. As part of the campaign, marathons, mohalla meetings, corner meetings, cycle jatha and seminars would be held to promote harmony among various communities.
An inter-religious conference will be held here on December 16, he said.
Shoab Malpe, Mohammed Sharook, Afwan and Milad, office-bearers of the organisation, were present.
