Liquor sale barred in city from tomorrow

In view of the Karavali Souharda rally for which Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been invited on February 25 and a hartal called by the RSS and other organisations, Deputy Commissioner K.G. Jagadeesha has barred sale of liquor in Dakshina Kannada district on February 24 and February 25.

Police reports

In a press release, Mr. Jagadeesha said that the decision to bar sale of liquor was taken in view of the reports from Police Commissioner M. Chandra Sekhar and Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase.

The two officers have asked for bar on sale of liquor in order to maintain law and order on these two days.

Sale of liquor will be barred between 6 a.m. of February 24 to midnight of February 25, the release said.
