Karnataka Bank outlines road map

Karnataka Bank CEO and managing director P. Jayaram Bhat on Tuesday hoped to achieve the targeted business of the bank during the current fiscal by strictly adhering to set goals in different sectors. Speaking at a review meeting of regional heads of the bank here, Mr. Bhat said the focus should be on low cost deposits, augmenting retail credit and reduction in non-performing assets. New initiatives of credit monitoring cell and IT-enabled business solution cell should also help the bank to achieve its targets.

District Red Cross runners up

The Dakshina Kannada unit of Red Cross Society bagged the runners up award at the State-level for exemplary services for the year 2013-14. The award was presented to Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim by Governor Vajubhai Vala at the Raj Bhavan recently. The unit had arranged several health programme, including a health check up camp at Banjarumale, 34 km away from the nearest primary health centre, during the year.

Skill training in horticulture

The Horticulture Department has organised a one-month skill development training at Lalbagh, Bengaluru. Selected candidates would be paid Rs. 2,000 stipend for a month. Applicants should be aged between 18 and 32 years and should be the wards of agriculturists.
