Employment enhancement training will be an added feature in this year's Alva's Pragati, the annual mega job mela, at Moodbidri.

To be held on May 12 and 13, the event is expected to attract 150 companies from 12 sectors and around 25,000 job aspirants will try their luck.

Chairman of the Alva's Education Foundation M. Mohan Alva told presspersons here on Saturday that the previous edition saw a participation of 143 companies and 15,000 job aspirants from 300 colleges, with around 3,000 being absorbed. Around 1,900 people were recruited in the 2010 job mela, he said.

Mr. Alva launched the website dedicated to the event www.alvaspragati.com and said that online registration and colour coding to segregate based on company requirements were a highlight of this year's recruitment drive. Aspirants can also register by emailing to placement.alvas@gmail.com or by calling 08258-237104 (ext 237) or 73537-56207. Companies can register to communicate their manpower requirements.

The Alva's has planned to organise pre-placement training programme from May 5 to 10.
