District in-charge Minister J. Krishna Palemar has asked the Kasturba Medical College to function in a way that people retain the trust they have reposed in the institution.

Launching the 1.5 Tesla Seimens Avanto Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine on Saturday, Mr. Palemar said while maintaining standards in medical services, there have been instances of medical waste from the KMC being dumped along the road in Manipal and Mangalore. Such instances have occurred despite action by the KMC to rectify it, he said.

Pro Chancellor of Manipal University H.S. Ballal said the hospital would offer facilities at concession rates to patients referred by Wenlock and Lady Goschen hospitals.
