Illegal LPG refill units raided

The City Central Crime Branch police recently raided two illegal LPG refilling units and seized 153 cylinders in Mangaluru South Police limits.

A communique said the police arrested Prashanth, 42, resident of Marigudi, and Sadashiva Rai, 47, resident of B.C. Road-Kaikamba.

Illegal refilling was going on at two premises in Bolara and Jeppu Market wherein the accused allegedly refilled LPG from domestic cylinders of government oil marketing companies to empty cylinders to sell them for a premium.

Of the 153 cylinders, 17 were full and 136 were empty.

Along with cylinders, police have also seized a pick up vehicle and a goods tempo, together worth ₹6.44 lakh.
