K. Raghupati Bhat, MLA, said on Tuesday that he would make all efforts to shift the Kendriya Vidyalaya from Malpe to the District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) building at Pragati Nagar here. He was speaking at the parents’ association meeting of Kendriya Vidyalaya here.

Though the Kendriya Vidyalaya had started functioning three years ago, it had been functioning in a building allocated by the side of Gandhi Shatabdi School. But there were complaints of lack of proper facilities at Vadabhandeshwara. Responding to this, Mr. Bhat said that he would try his best to provide alternative facilities for the school at Pragati Nagar.

He would also try to get the construction of the new building started for the Kendriya Vidyalaya at the land reserved for it near the Suvarna Karnataka Complex in Alevoor village, he said.
