Sweet success: Anagha Udupa, scored 623 out of 625 in SSLC exam, with her parents at Kota in Udupi district on Tuesday.

Anagha Udupa, a student of Viveka English Medium School, Kota, has topped Udupi district in the SSLC exam by securing 623 marks out of 625.

Daughter of Nagesh Udupa, who is a head constable with the Lokayukta police in Udupi, and Vinaya Udupa, a homemaker, Anagha used to study three to four hours a day. She did not take any coaching. “I gave importance to self study and whenever I had any doubts, my teachers were only too glad to clear them,” she said.

Anagha’s ambition is to become an aerospace engineer and work in ISRO. “But it all depends on how I score in second year PUC,” she said.

She attributes her success in the SSLC exam to her parents and teachers. Besides studies, Anagha also loves to participate in cultural activities. She has passed junior level exams in Carnatic vocal. “I love singing, drawing, participating in elocution, and acting in plays,” she said.
