With heavy rain continuing to lash the coastal areas, a holiday has been declared for all schools, pre-university colleges, polytechnics and degree colleges in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Tuesday.
The Deputy Commissioners of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have extended the holiday for all schools, pre-university colleges and polytechnics in the two districts for the second day on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Sasikanth Senthil S. said that the Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Mangaluru Region, has declared holiday for all degree colleges in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Madikeri on Tuesday.
According to India Meteorological Department, heavy rain in a few places with very heavy rain in isolated places is very likely over the coastal areas on Tuesday.
