Electric poles damaged at Yekkur

Several electricity poles were damaged in Yekkur and Police Lane when two trees were uprooted owing to strong winds on Saturday evening.

Supply of electricity was snapped in Yekkur and Police Lane.

Two electric poles were damaged when a tree near Ganapati temple in Police Lane fell on them.

It also damaged a police motorcycle and a portion of a residential quarters in Police Lane.

Electricity supply was disrupted in 20 police quarters in the area.

It took nearly two hours for the police and the Fire and Emergency Services personnel to clear the branches of the tree.

Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited was yet to take up work on replacing the damaged electric poles and restore power supply, a resident said.

Six electric poles were damaged in Yekkur when a tree fell on them.
