Eight held on charge of cannabis sale, consumption

Economic and Narcotic Crime sleuths on Friday arrested eight persons allegedly involved in the consumption, sale, and transportation of cannabis near Kadri Grounds.

The sleuths first arrested Shiraj of Kodialbail, Chiraj of Kadri, Ananth and Pavan, both from Car Street.

The police seized 500g of cannabis, ₹10,000 worth of sedatives, four mobile phones, and two two-wheelers from the accused.

The sleuths then arrested Rohan of Kulashekara, Sadashiva Kamath of Kanhangad, Badresh of Bejai, and Sunil Bhat of Kottara.

In another case, the Kavoor police arrested Naushad, 34, of Harekala who was allegedly attempting to sell cannabis and heroin in Panjimogaru.
