Drought: JD(S) to take out padayatra from Kadakol to Jewargi

Kedarlingayya Hiremath, senior leader of the Janata Dal (Secular) will lead a four-day padayatra from Kadakol to Jewargi town from November 2 demanding that the State government waive crop loans and take up drought relief works on a war-footing basis.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, he said that the padayatra would kick off from Kadakol village and reach Jewargi town on November 6.

It would touch villages including Ijeri and Kadlur. On reaching Jewargi town, an indefinite dharna would be launched seeking compensation for farmers who lost their crops and demanding that drought relief works be taken up.
