CPI (M) working on third front formation: State Committee member

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is discussing with other like-minded parties for the formation of third front and fight against policies and actions of the Bharatiya Janata Party that was working against the interests of the common man, said CPI (M) State Secretariat Member K.R. Sriyan.

Inaugurating a day-long CPI (M) Mangaluru City conference on Sunday, Mr. Sriyan said the party will continue with its fight for the working class, whose interests are not being safeguarded by the Union government. The interests of workmen are being compromised at the cost of promoting production of goods in India as a part of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, he alleged.

Mr. Sriyan said the BJP, which was against the Congress for cutting down subsidy of domestic cylinders, was now continuing the same policy. People are being forced to pay a price at the market rate and then get subsidy amount deposited in their bank account.

Mr. Sriyan said the Centre has disbanded price regulation mechanism for fuel that will have lasting impact on price of petrol and diesel. The present decrease in the prices of petrol and diesel was momentary and it would increase once the global rate of fuel rises.

Centre of Indian Trade Unions district secretary Vasanth Achary, CPI (M) city unit secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal and Democratic Youth Federation of India State secretary Muneer Katipalla spoke.
