Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested two persons for the alleged illegal possession of 14 kg of cannabis.

According to a press release, on a tip-off, the CCB sleuths on Saturday evening stopped a car, registered in Bengaluru, in Mudipu.

The sleuths seized 14 kg of cannabis found in the car and arrested Abdul Aziz (35) and Mohammed Mustafa (44). Both are from Bantwal.

The police said that the accused had allegedly purchased cannabis from Sheikh Saleem Basha, a resident of Palamaner in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

The accused had allegedly planned to sell cannabis to people in Mangaluru and in neighbouring Manjeshwar and Uppala of Kerala.

Abdul Aziz was earlier arrested by Ullal police in 2016 for alleged illegal sale of cannabis, the police said.
