Cash awards for those breaking records

The Dakshina Kannada Amateur Athletics Association has announced cash prizes of Rs. 25,000 each to athletes who break meet records in the ongoing Federation Cup National Senior National Athletics Championship.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Manjunath Bhandary, the president of the association, said the cash prizes will be given by the host association.

During the last three days of the event, javelin thrower Devander Singh and shot-putter Indrajeet Singh have broken the Federation Cup Athletic meet records in their respective events. Monday is the last day of the five-day Championship.
