Teacher training workshop

The International Geoscience Education Organisation would be organising a teacher training workshop at the Geological Survey of India, Mangaladevi Temple Road, between July 7 and 10, for teachers who teach earth science topics to students of high school. The workshop would be conducted by renowned earth science educators — Nir Orion from Israel and Chris King from the UK. There is no registration fee. Fee concession

Brilliant PU College, Mangaluru, administered by Shrividya Education Foundation, has been offering attractive concessions to meritorious students. Institute Chairman Ram Mohan Rai has said students scoring 98 per cent and above in SSLC would get full concession in fees of college, coaching and hostel; those scoring above 95 per cent would get full concession in college fee; those scoring above 85 per cent would get 50 per cent concession in college fee and those scoring above 75 per cent would get 25 per cent concession in college fee. Besides these, scholarships too would be provided to students based on their SSCL scoring. Admissions are now underway for the PU courses. RTA meeting postponed

The meeting of Dakshina Kannada Regional Transport Authority, scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed to June 25. The postponement was necessitated due to the ongoing process of fixing reservation for gram panchayat heads, said an official release.

Power shutdown

in Udupi

Power supply would be affected in Adi Udupi and surrounding areas on Friday between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m .following urgent repair works on Bannanje and Ambalapadi feeders. Areas affected are — Adi Udupi, Pandubettu, Kalmadi, Malpe town and port, Madhwanagar, Nayarkere, Kadabettu, Ambalapadi, Kinnimulki, Kannarpadi, Ajjarkad and surrounding areas.
