Okha Express

The Railways has permanently augmented train No. 16338/16337 Ernakulam-Okha-Ernakulam Express with one 2-tier air conditioned coach with immediate effect, said a release from the Konkan Railway Corporation here.

Courses in GTTC

The Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC), Baikampady, has invited applications for admissions to diploma in tool and dye-making as well as diploma in precision manufacturing from SSLC or equivalent pass candidates. The courses offer good job opportunities. Those who have passed ITI in turner, mechanical, tool and dye making and fitter trades would get direct admission to second year diploma under lateral entry scheme. Application forms may be had by submitting a demand draft for Rs. 250 (Rs. 125 for SC/ ST candidates) to the Principal, GTTC, Baikampady Industrial Area, Mangaluru, either by post or by person. Bank account must for scholarships

The Backward Classes Department has said that students getting scholarships from the Department should compulsorily open a joint account with father/ mother or guardian in any nationalised bank to avail the benefit. The student has to submit a photocopy of the first page of the passbook along with IFSC code, Aadhaar copy (or caste and income certificate of parents, in case of not having Aadhaar card) to the head of the institution during admissions. The head of the institution in turn should submit all these details to the Department in the prescribed format, a release said.
