National Voters Day on January 25

The National Voters Day will be celebrated in Uppinangady on January 25. Plays and elocution competition on the subject ‘Democracy and Participation of People in Voting’, will be held, said a press release.

Autorickshaw fare

to be discussed

Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim will be chairing a meeting of the Road Transport Authority on Friday at his office to discuss the reduction of autorickshaw fares. The RTA decided to reduce the fare of private city buses in a meeting held on Thursday in light of reduction in the fare of petrol and diesel.

Stress buster programme

Pana Education & People Alliance (PEPA) will be conducting pre-exam stress buster programme ‘Howzzat’ on January 10. Apart from a career guidance session, there will be a multiple intelligence test. Three-day Yakshagana

The three-day Yakshagana conference organised by the Karnataka Yakshagana Byalata Academy will begin in Kateel on Friday. Apart from staging of Yakshaganas by children and other Yakshanaga groups, the three day-event will have discussions on various aspects of Yakshagana. The programme will begin with Yakshangana ‘Panchavati’ by Kateel Makkala Mela. On Saturday, the Sadashiva Mahila Sannata Sangha will present the popular ‘Sangya Balya’, which will be followed by a puppetry show by Kalikamba Prasanna Yuvajana Sootra. On January, 11 there will be Tala Maddale on ‘Karnarjuna’ by popular Arthadaris, according to a press release.

KSOU’s coaching centre

The Karnataka State Open University’s Competitive Examination Training Centre will be training aspirants for the entrance exams conducted for the post of clerks in various banks. Aspirants can register their names with the centre in Mysuru on January 10. For details, call 0821-251944.

Blood donation camp on Jan. 11

The Jamat-e-Islami Hind Youth Wing will be conducting blood donation camp at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Higher Primary School in Krishnapura 6th block on January 11. The camp will be held between 9.30 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to a press release.
