Niranjan Rai, convener, Netravathi Nadi Samrakshana Okkuta, said different organisations except a political party has supported the bandh. He said that many organisations have taken a voluntary decision to observe bandh.

Sharanappa S.D., Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada, said that additional police force has been deployed in Belthangady to maintain law and order. He said that activists have not taken permission to block the highway. Forced closure of shops would not be allowed.
