Bedroll supply has resumed in air-conditioned coaches in trains maintained by the Palakkad Division of the Southern Railway. It is as per the direction of the Railway Board.
With this, passengers travelling in the AC sleeper coaches of train No. 12602/12601 Mangaluru Central - Chennai Central- Mangaluru Central Mail; train No. 22638/22637 Mangaluru Central - Chennai Central - Mangaluru Central West Coast Express; train No.16603/16604 Mangaluru Central - Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru Central Maveli Express; train No.16630/16629 Mangaluru Central - Thiruvananthapuram -Mangaluru Central Malabar Express are being provided with blanket, bedsheets and pillow.
In all these trains, window and bay curtains in the AC II tier coaches have also made a comeback. AC III-tier coaches and AC chair car coaches are provided with the window curtains. Mangaluru Central - Coimbatore - Mangaluru Central Intercity Express, Parasuram Express, and Ernad Express have AC chair car coaches maintained by the division.
The bedroll supply and bay/window curtains in AC coaches had been withdrawn in March 2020 as a precautionary step against the spread of Covid-19, a release from the division said.
