Awareness programmes on child labour, child trafficking

In order to create awareness about child trafficking and child labour as per the directions of Railway Board and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the RPF, Child Helpline and Mahila Santvana Kendra held awareness programmes for students at Indiranagar High School here and at Herur Primary School in Brahmavar, on Saturday.

A press release issued here stated said that Santosh Gaonkar, Inspector, RPF, educated students about the security of railway passengers.

Responsibilities

He spoke to them about the responsibilities of both the passengers and the public. He explained the offences that took place in the Railways and informed the students about the security helpline number: 182.

Child helpline

Mohan, Child Helpline, explained the objectives of the child helpline – 1098. Ganesh, Mahila Santvana Kendra, explained crimes against women and let the students know the helpline number – 1515.

Besides the students, the teachers of these schools also participated in the programme. Ratnamala, Head Teacher, Herur School, and Manjunath, Headmaster, Indiranagar High School, were present.
