Assistant Commissioner speaks in Kundagannada at Rajyotsava function

Assistant Commissioner Raju K. spoke in Kundagannada, the local dialect of Kannada spoken in Kundapur-Byndoor region, at the Rajyotsava Day celebrations at Kundapur in Udupi district on Friday.

Mr. Raju spoke after hoisting the national flag and the Karnataka flag at the Gandhi Maidan in Kundapur.

Speaking in Kundagannada, he said that if people forgot their mother tongue, it was like betraying the food they ate.

Speaking in the native Kannada is not enough in one’s daily exchanges, people should speak it with their near and dear ones and friends.

It is not enough if people merely pay lip service to Kannada, but it was essential to become Kannadigas in the real sense, Mr. Raju said.
