A.B. Shetty Circle renovation work begins

It is being renovated on a public-private partnership mode

The work of developing and renovating the A.B. Shetty Circle in Pandeshwar began on Wednesday. The circle is being renovated on a public-private partnership mode at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh.

According to the plan, the circle will have a granite structure and a lawn. The structure will be 16-foot high and four metres wide.

Deputy Commissioner N.S. Channappa Gowda said the circle would be illuminated and maintained by the developer. The bank planned to complete the work by October 23 to mark 80 years of its establishment. The work has been taken up in memory of bank's founder Attavara Balakrishna Shetty, after whom the circle named. Mr. Gowda laid the foundation stone for the work on Wednesday. Vijaya Bank Director B. Ibrahim and Bank's Deputy General Manager Sudhakar Shetty M were present.
