Trains to be diverted

Several trains originating from or passing through Mangalore will either be diverted via Allapuzha or detained on the way in view of some work on a major bridge near Kottayam and some maintenance work on minor bridges on the Kottayam-Ernakulam section, a press release by the Palakkad division of Southern Railway said.

On Monday, the Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Parasuram Express (train no. 6649/50) and the Kochuveli-Lokamanya Tilak Garib Rath Express (2202) will be diverted. On Wednesday the Parasuram Express from Mangalore and the Dehradun-Kochuveli-Dehradun Express (train No. 2288) will be detained near the site of the work. On Thursday, the Garib Rath Express originating from Kochuveli will be diverted while the Parasuram Express originating from Mangalore will be detained.

On October 1, the Kochuveli-Dehradun Expess (train No. 2287) will be diverted via Allapuzha. The Parasuram Express from Mangalore will be detained. On October 3, the Parasuram Express will be diverted via Allapuzha and the Garib Rath Express from Kochuveli will also be diverted.

On October 6, the Parashuram Express from Mangalore and the Dehradun Express from Dehradun will be detained. On October 7, the Garib Rath Express from Kochuveli and the Parasuram Express from Mangalore will be diverted.

On October 8, the Dehradun Express originating from Kochuveli and the Parasuram Express from Mangalore will be diverted.

On October 10, the Parsuram Express in either direction and the Garib Rath Express from Kochuveli will be diverted.

On October 12, the Parasuram Express from here will be detained, while on October 13 the Parasuram Express will be diverted in either direction.

The diverted trains will stop at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Allapuzha, Ampallapuzha, Haripad and Kayankulam, the press release said.
