Theft in temple in Udupi dist.

Thieves broke into a temple and made away with gold ornaments worth Rs. 6 lakh at Kabbinale village coming under the Hebri police station limits in Udupi district. According to the police, thieves broke into the Sri Annapurneshwari Temple between 7 p.m. on September 26 and 7 a.m. on September 27. They decamped with gold ornaments of the deity, whose value is estimated to be Rs. 6 lakh. A case had been registered at Hebri police station and investigations are on, the police said.
