Procession of chariots marks Hanuma Jayanti in Udupi

Eight chariots or “rathas” of Sri Krishna Math/Temple were taken in a procession around Car Street here on the occasion of Hanuma Jayanti on Monday. According to a press release issued by Paryaya Sri Shiroor Math, the chariots were taken out in a procession for the first time.

The chariots carried idols of Krishna, Ananteshwara, Chandramouleshwara, Rama, Srikara, Hanuman, Sri Vadiraja, and Sri Prahalada. A special fireworks display was organised on the occasion.

Lakshmivara Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Shiroor Math and Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math took part in the procession.
