NMPT expects more cargo movement


The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has said that the proactive business promotion drive by the port administration by conducting business and trade meets at various locations of the hinterland have been yielding positive results.

In a release here, NMPT said the port had a series of business meets at Mysuru and Nanjangud where various potential export firms are located. The recent meet conducted last week with Ranga Rao & Sons Private Ltd. (agarbatti), J.K. Tyres, Nestle India and M.K. Agrotech Private Ltd. (edible oil) contributing to the movement of new cargo through the port.

Stuffing of J.K. Tyres and agarbatti by Ranga Rao & Sons Private Ltd. has already commenced in their respective firms. Nestle India and M.K. Agrotech Private Litd., who are already using New Mangalore Port, have assured to divert more cargo through the port.
