The Technical Coordination Committee of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., which met here recently, has given approval to various proposals of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company to augment infrastructure.
A release from MESCOM here said that the committee approved proposals for new projects, including the establishment of sub-stations and construction of transmission lines.
MESCOM Managing Director Chikkananjappa convinced the committee members of the need to hold the meeting in Mangaluru in view of anticipated load growth in the next two decades when Mangaluru is going to be a smart city. Earlier, the meeting used to be held in Bengaluru.
The release said that necessary approvals were obtained in the meeting for proposals for the establishment of new sub-stations, augmentation works such as enhancing installed capacity of existing sub-stations, inter connecting the sub-stations by underground cables to form the ring main.
Further, important proposals pertaining to Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Udupi districts were also approved.
The meeting was chaired by Director, Transmission, KPTCL, H. Nagesh.
