Another daily flight from Mangaluru to Dubai from October 30

Bridging the gap between Dubai and Mangaluru further, another daily flight will be introduced between the two cities from October 30. It will be the fourth daily flight between the two. According to J.T. Radhakrishna, director, Mangaluru International Airport, SpiceJet will introduce the new flight.

It will depart Mangaluru daily at 12.20 a.m. The flight will arrive here at 6.15 p.m. on five days. On Mondays and Saturdays, it will arrive at 8.30 a.m. The private carrier has already begun the booking, he said.

Mr. Radhakrishna said that when the new flight services became operational the airport here would have eight daily flights with 16 operations in the international sector for different West Asian destinations. In addition, the airport now handled 15 daily domestic flights with 30 operations.

Increase in passengers

The director said that passenger movement at the airport has increased, especially in the morning. As many as 6 flights, three international and three domestic, depart between 7.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m.

With this about 800 passengers depart daily.

As a result passenger congestion is experienced in the security check area and terminal building.

Hence the Airports Authority of India is appealing to passengers to reach the airport much in advance to clear security checks.
